IJSS Journal of Surgery is open access, peer-reviewed journal publishing articles for surgeons and trainee surgeons of all disciplines, as well as other medical professionals engaged with the support and surgical treatment of patients.
IJSS Journal of surgery has the goal of providing its readership the highest quality rapid retrieval of information relevant to surgeons. It provides an in-depth, international forum for the most recent, authoritative information on major clinical problems in the fields of clinical and experimental surgery, surgical education, and socioeconomic aspects of surgical care.
Journal content includes Leading Articles, Reviews, Original Research Articles, Randomized Clinical Trials, Your Views and Book Reviews.
All papers published in the IJSS are subject to rigorous peer review.
The Journal aims to:
- Publish rare or exceptional cases in surgery of wider interest to those working in the field.
- Publish new clinical approaches to surgery.
- Document specific clinical findings that may indicate new or alternative understandings of existing surgical techniques.
- Promote greater exchange of information between the various specialties and sub-specialties related to surgery.
Peer Review System
Each article submitted to IJSS Journal of Surgery will be reviewed by 2-3 reviewers. Journal follows Double Blind Peer Review System. All manuscripts will be acknowledged upon presenting to the Journal office, provided that all stated requirements are met. The manuscript is sent to two or more reviewers. The whole review process depends on receiving referees comments and revising the manuscripts based on these comments to the author. On receipt of the revised article from the author, and after final approving by referees, the letter of acceptance is issued to the author. Authors have the right to communicate to the editor if they do not wish their manuscript to be reviewed by a particular reviewer because of potential conflict of interest. No article is rejected unless negative comments are received from at least two reviewers.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
